Brand monitoring

See how often your brand is mentioned across the web, how people feel about it, and how it compares with your competitors.

5 min read

Brand monitoring reads what is written about a brand across the open web: blogs, news, shops, forums and more. It shows how the mentions are growing, whether they are positive, where they come from, and how your brand compares with the ones you name.

Follow a brand

  1. Open Brand Monitoring

Choose it under Research in the left sidebar.

  2. Enter the brand name

It is searched as an exact phrase, so a specific name works best. A common word will match many unrelated pages.

  3. Add competitors (optional)

Add up to three competitor brands to compare with. A project can follow up to 20 brands, and following is free.

  4. Run a report

The button shows the price first. The report runs in the background with live progress, usually in under a minute.

Read the report

SectionWhat it shows
Headline numbersTotal mentions with the change against last month, the overall sentiment, the top site and the main emotion.
Mentions per monthPages that mention the brand each month for a year, split into positive, neutral and negative. The latest month may still be filling in.
SentimentHow the pages that mention the brand come across, and the emotions in them.
SourcesThe top sites, kinds of page, countries and languages the mentions come from.
Share of voiceEach brand's part of all the mentions compared, and how each brand's mentions moved over the year.
Recent mentionsThe newest pages that mention the brand, each with its site, kind of page and sentiment.

Work with the mentions

  • Use the All, Positive, Neutral and Negative buttons to narrow the table in one click, and search titles, text and sites.
  • Filter by site, kind of page, country and language, and clear every filter at once.
  • Sort any column, and select a row to read its details and open the page.
  • Export the rows you are looking at to CSV, which opens cleanly in Excel and Google Sheets.

History and cost

Every report is saved, so you can switch between reports and reopen them for free. A report is a few lookups: three for the brand and two more for each competitor. If you add a competitor later, only the new lookups are charged. Pieces you already have saved are free, and a failed lookup is never charged.

Use it from an AI assistant

Your connected AI assistant can follow a brand, build a report and read your saved reports, for example *"What is the web saying about us compared with our rivals?"*.
